Giving constant care takes its toll.
For caregivers, the work never ends, as they are on call 24/7.
Each day blends into the next, and the stress is unremitting.
The demands are exhausting and overwhelming.
There is no reason to go it alone.
Seeking support makes a difference.
As a family caregiver for over 20 years, I know there are no easy fixes, no miracles waiting in the wings. However, I also know that caregivers need support, just like the person for whom they provide support.
We can work together to carve out time for you… if it is only a few minutes a day.
Let’s find ways to streamline what you do so instead of a dark passage, it feels like there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.
You talk, I listen…
Having someone to talk to without judgment can make a world of difference.
Let’s dig into the feelings that go hand in hand with caregiving, such as the sense of loss, disappointment, anguish, and yes, anger and resentment.
These all have their place in our lives and can be signposts (or red flags) to help us realize that we need to take better care of ourselves.
End-of-life transitions are challenging to all involved.
As a caregiver and as a therapist, I’ve done lots of work with people approaching end-of-life transitions. I am ready to explore these issues and questions with both caregivers and clients.
The hardest conversations can be the richest, most meaningful intersection points we will ever have as humans on this earth. Being open to the sorrow, searching for meaning, and the ‘’what next’’ questions are among the most difficult yet the most uniquely human experiences we can have.
My goal is to be here to walk through these clouds of uncertainty with you. No one path is the right path. But having someone with whom you can talk can help forge your path.
It would be my privilege to help you through this transition.
Support is a phone call away!
Caregiving is challenging, not only for the person receiving care, but also for the caregiver. It becomes even more challenging when dealing with end-of-life transitions.
I am here to listen and to help you find some peace in this process.
